Friends and Family,

This is hard for me to ask. I have temporary guardianship of baby Gio. I hired a lawyer and paid the up front fees. We have had two court hearings and filed numerous documentation costing a lot of money charged by the hour. Yesterday our case was set for Trial for May 19th. The fathers lawyer was successful in asking for unsupervised visitation. The father is very good at his lies and playing the part long enough to manipulate the system. He is bringing forward false witnesses and is preparing to do what it takes to win his child so he can continue to collect the child's SSI money and food stamps. My lawyer told me it will cost another $2000.00 (at a minimum) to prepare for Trial of which I do not have.  I had hoped the case would settle prior to Trial but because the parents are objecting to my guardianship, they are entitled to a contested hearing. Coming up with more money is going to be extremely hard in such a short period of time. This guardianship means everything to me. I have seen this child go from neglect to thriving in a environment where he is loved and put first. I cannot imagine this child going back in a environment that is chaotic, violent and where his needs come last. If you have ever dealt with the Court system when it comes to Fostering or Guardianship then you know it is messy and broken.  It will take a lot of preparation and time by my attorney and myself to supply all I can to help show the Judge the severe neglect  that this child has been through.  I am heavily praying each day on my knees that justice prevails for this child. I do not like asking for financial help but I have no choice. If you aren't able to help financially, I completely understand and thank you for your prayers and positive thoughts as that is most helpful as well. I thank you all SO much for your love, prayers and support in my journey with this precious child.
