Funds for Dahlia (contains some distressing, graphic images)

Hello there, My name is Victoria Smith.

Our Gorgeous girl Dahlia came home with the most horrific injury late last night 12th May 2025.

Which resulted in quite a traumatic wake up call to my children, to get up and get dressed to head to emergency out of hours vets @ Harris Hill and Gibbons vets in Trowbridge Wiltshire BA14.

They were wonderful they had Dahlia straight in to assess and issue pain meds.

Discussion about xrays assessments and all sorts it was quite a blur.

A couple of hours later after assessment and Dahlia was coming round.

I was informed she did go into cardiac arrest she was resuscitated and has a high temperature, the gash on her leg was found to be deeper than initially thought,

fears for nerve damage from muscles being torn, the gash so deep exposing her hip ball joint, spine vertabrae and tail bones the procedure to close up her wound was difficult and has resulted in tightness of the area and now concerns whether she will eat pee and poo and to see how she responds to intravenous antibiotics, and pain meds and to expect a call at 7am this morning 13th May 2025.

The cause of the injury is unknown but confirmed isn't in conjunction to a vehicle collision or animal attack.

Vets guess is caught on some sharp high up and dropped from a height or jumped from a height onto something sharp.

7am comes I get the call Dahlia is responding well no more cardiac arrest, resuscitation occurred.

She has eaten her breakfast, and has kept that down.

Her pain meds have been reduced. Which again is a fantastic sign.

Vet confirmed she has sensation in tail spine and rectum. She has hobble walked,

Again wonderful news. she has eaten her breakfast and now awaiting for her to be able to pass urine and faeces. Additional medication given to aid in softener and easing the strain of this event to occur praying she does because that means she may very well be able to come home.

I have set up this go fund me account and asking for whatever help anybody can give towards her vet bills please.

Due to recent series of unfortunate events financial and extremely heartbreaking. my animals are not currently covered with insurance and this current situation Dahlia is in has well exceeded my financial ability and the quote initially given.

I have paid up a massive amount to initiate treatment for Dahlia and the vets and staff have been wonderful and caring.

I completely understand it is my responsibility to financially support my girl and also where the vets need to be paid up for the treatments they provide too.

Dahlia is our beloved cat,

she is so sooo loved by my small family we couldnt be without her.

She has an extremely special bond with my middle daughter, she is my daughters support they dote on eachother their connection is deeper connection than some could ever understand due to personal circumstances.
