Funds for Dad's Urgent Medical Flight Home

Our family is raising money to fly our Dad home to Canada with a medical escort to receive urgent medical care. He has been in a Paris hospital for over a week after he suffered a nearly fatal cardiogenic shock during our trip to relocate him from Riga, Latvia to Ottawa, Canada.

We want to get him home to be with his daughter, his two granddaughters, who are 3 years and 3 months old, and his son-in-law. His son and second son-in-law live just across the border.

Unknown to us, he has been living abroad with Parkinson's and dementia for some years, which are now at advanced stages. As a result of his dementia and ill health, he has not worked in some time and lost his health insurance.

He did not communicate his state or circumstances to his family in North America. In fact, he was rarely in contact until a health emergency occurred. He had lived alone in Latvia for the past several years and was not able to properly care for himself due to his health.

He has been medically cleared to leave Paris with a doctor companion on a direct flight. Because he does not have insurance, the cost of the service to fly him home with medical assistance has to be paid out of pocket. The cost is exorbitant and we don't have another choice. 

Our family truly appreciates anything you can donate to our fund to fly him home with a medical escort. It's a cost we weren't prepared for and we're so thankful for any support during this challenging period in our lives.
