Funds for Caleb, in honour of Grant
Donation protected
Grant Vanderveen was the best guy ever. Too bad he couldn’t see it very often.
As a young man he was amazing: handsome, hilarious, a gifted musician and the life of the party. Grant was loved immensely by all who knew him. He was also an addict and struggled with addiction for decades. He fought the good fight and he lost. Grant died on August 7, 2018 of a drug overdose. Many people are grieving this loss – friends from childhood, school, work, the local music scene, support groups, and his family.
Grant was also a father. To a sweet, beautiful boy named Caleb.
The organizers of this campaign wish to provide Caleb with a legacy of funds that he will be able to use when he transitions into adulthood. This money will be deposited as “minors funds” through the Accountant of the Superior Court of Justice in Ontario. In this way, it will be protected and invested until Caleb turns 18.
Our community, through the course of Grant’s life, has survived a lot of tragedy. The effects are still being felt. Let’s do what we can to find peace and help build a positive future for Caleb.
