The Islamic Center of Boulder (ICB) was founded in the late 1970s by a group of students at the University of Colorado at Boulder (CU Boulder). We’ve grown quite a bit since then and our mission is to bring all Muslims in Boulder and surrounding areas together. We are a community of Muslims from different backgrounds, nationalities, cultures and ethnicities, who speak different mother languages, but who are Muslims seeking to practice our faith, to become closer to Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala by our actions.
Alhamdulillah With the help of the community and all the donors we were able to purchase an old church building (Built in 1970's) on Baseline on the 9th of August, 2011. This building is old and tired and needs a lot of maintenance work. The flooding in 2013, damaged the basement area and still needs a lot of work to restore.
We need your help and generosity in order to complete our project to maintain a clean, safe, and accessible place of worship for the performance of the five daily prayers, salatul Jum’ah (Friday prayer) and to create a welcoming Islamic environment for individuals and families to gather, get to know each other, and help each other in righteousness and piety.
The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The good deeds that will reach a believer after his death are: knowledge which he learned and then spread; a righteous son whom he leaves behind; a copy of the Qur’an that he leaves as a legacy; a mosque that he built; a house that he built for wayfarers; a canal that he dug; or charity that he gave during his lifetime when he was in good health. These deeds will reach him after his death.”
“Whoever builds a mosque, desiring the pleasure of Allah, Allah builds for them the like of it in paradise” (Prophet Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)
PROJECT AND PLAN OVERVIEW
Refurbish the 20,508 Square Feet facility by doing the following:
Repair and replacement of aged and failing plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems.
Bring piped in water to the facility - Currently buying water and storing in a cistern.
Rebuild the bathroom facilities
Update all class rooms
Put in a library for Quran and Islamic literature and books
Build a Conference Room
Full Size Commercial Kitchen for charity events and Iftar
Basketball Court for youth activities
Playground for children
Activity rooms for Kids
Sisters Lounge
Amount Needed: $1.2M
Completing this project will take YOUR support! Please donate and help us complete our project and make this a safe place for our families and future generations. 100% of your donation will be used for the Masjid project and is entirely tax deductible. The Islamic Centre of Boulder is a non-political, non-profit, 501 (c) 3 charity organization.
On completion of the Sadaqa Jariah project, The Islamic Centre of Boulder will provide you with feedback and pictures.
