To help Srujan’s healthcare expenses

I have known Siva Reddy’s family for the last 14 years and still remember the day his son (Srujan, who is currently 24 years old) was diagnosed with the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy disease (An inherited disorder of progressive muscular weakness, typically in boys. There is no cure, but physical therapy and medications, such as corticosteroids, can help control symptoms and improve quality of life)

This happened back in 2006, and since then, Srujan’s parents, who are private school teachers, have been working extremely hard to take care of all expenses to cure his son’s disease. For the last several years, they have been visiting a number of all major hospitals in Hyderabad, including MedCity, NIMS, and Apollo to try and treat him in all the possible ways. These include Ayurveda, acupuncture, acupressure, and physical therapy treatments.

Since there is no cure to this disease (currently, major healthcare companies are doing R&D on this) and also since lifespan (average of 25-30 years) is limited for these patients, the only way is to expand the lifespan (to about 35-40 years) is by providing quality treatments like regular acupuncture, acupressure, and physical therapy. In the process of getting better treatments, his parents have spent all their savings and are looking for crowdfunding to give a better treatment to expand their child’s lifespan.

Lately, Srujan’s father gave up his career as Srujan is completely bedridden and needs continuous attention for various therapies and other daily activities. Here, I am requesting all my friends to help by contributing any amount you can to help expand Srujan’s lifespan so he can have access to the necessary workout equipment, power wheelchair, modifications for the rest room. The donated money will also provide additional financial support to his parents who lost their jobs due to the current COVID pandemic situation. Thank you all.
