My dad, Andy Crochet, is at Huntsville Hospital and has been since February 17th just after a midnight ambulance ride. The diagnosis is community-acquired pneumonia and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He is unable to breathe on his own without oxygen, and unable to walk, stand, sit, or roll over on his own. He is exhausted! Our family is overwhelmed by the love and support offered. We love all of y’all and cannot even begin to express how grateful we are for everyone. Now that dad has been in the hospital for a week we are beginning to discuss his future medical care, which will include being transported to an inpatient rehabilitation facility, followed by home health, and then outpatient therapy. His recovery will take around a year and this is a journey that our family is prepared to face. With this being said, we are discussing sending him to Atlanta, GA to admit into Shepherd Center for inpatient rehab. As most of you know our home is in Huntsville, AL though so we will be traveling and lodging in order to continue to provide support for him. We have two large fur babies at home and kitties that need to be cared for and potentially lodged. Many have asked about how to help us or if they could donate towards future expenses, so I am setting this page up to raise money for ongoing expenses for medical care and future travels for family, as well as possible home accommodations/modifications.
