My name is Ahmed Al-Abadleh. I’m a 24-year-old Palestinian software engineer from Gaza. I got married in 2021 to Doaa, a compassionate and hardworking nurse. We dreamed of a peaceful life together—but that dream was shattered in one horrific moment.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, an airstrike leveled our home while we were sleeping. I was critically wounded, fell into a coma, and underwent several surgeries on my skull, legs, and hands. But even worse—I lost 10 members of my beloved family, including my sister, her husband, and their children, who were killed under the rubble.
Since then, I’ve been living with the rest of my family—my mother, three older brothers, and two younger siblings—under a fragile plastic tent. We’ve endured over 2 years of harsh displacement, without clean water, electricity, or access to medical care. Every day is a battle for survival. Food is scarce. The nights are cold. The fear is constant.
My wife remains in Egypt. Due to the war, we’ve been separated for over a year. I haven’t seen her since. The emotional toll of this forced distance—on top of everything else—is indescribable.
I have lost everything: my health, my home, my income, and my sense of stability. My only hope now is to evacuate to a safe country where I can receive proper treatment and be reunited with Doaa, the person who gives me strength even from afar.
Evacuating from Gaza is painfully expensive—over $5000 per person—and that doesn’t even cover food, rent, or medical expenses. I never imagined myself having to ask for help like this, but this is my only chance at healing, dignity, and life.
Why This Fundraiser Matters:
There are countless stories of suffering, but as told in the story of the starfish, “It makes a difference to this one.” This campaign is for that one—Ahmed—who needs hope, treatment, and a future.
Funds will be used for:
-Medical care
-Evacuation costs
-Basic living needs: food, rent, clothing
still cannot have a home or even a small tent to live with Doaa, nor can I travel to be with her. Every day apart is a reminder of everything the war has stolen from us—and the simple chance to be together.
Your support—whether big or small—means the world.
Please help me reclaim a life of dignity, safety, and health.❤️️
.. My friend jessica creten is going to collect the donations and send them to me.
