They Lost Everything. Now They Fight to Survive

My name is Ahmad Al-Abadleh, a 24-year-old Palestinian software engineer from Gaza. I got married in 2021, dreaming of a peaceful life alongside my wife, filled with hope and stability. But everything changed in a single moment.
On the morning of October 7, 2023, while we were sleeping, an airstrike hit our home. In that one devastating moment, I lost ten members of my family — including my sister, her husband, and their children.

I was critically injured, fell into a coma, and underwent several major surgeries on my skull, hands, and legs.
Since then, my life has been turned upside down.

For more than 450 days now, I’ve been living with what remains of my family under a plastic tent — exposed to heat, cold, and unlivable conditions. We have no electricity, no clean water, and no access to adequate medical care. My wife remains in Egypt, and due to the war and devastation, we’ve been separated ever since. We haven’t seen each other in over a year.

On top of the emotional devastation and physical trauma, I’ve also lost my only source of income — leaving me unable to provide even the most basic necessities for myself and my loved ones.
I am now in urgent need of medical evacuation and continued treatment, as my condition continues to worsen. But the cost of medical evacuation and post-treatment expenses exceeds $5,000 per person, a sum I cannot afford in these dire circumstances.
This is why I turn to you — to kind and compassionate people around the world — to help me survive, heal, and start again.
Your donation today could be the reason I live to reunite with my wife, to rebuild what was destroyed, and to regain my dignity.
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference. All funds will go directly toward medical care, evacuation, and housing. My trusted friend Jessica Cretten is helping coordinate and receive donations on my behalf with full honesty and transparency.
Please share my story, support if you can, and help give me a second chance at life.
With deep gratitude,
Ahmad Al-Abadleh
