My name is Ahmed Al-Abadleh, a 24-year-old Palestinian software engineer. In 2021, I married the love of my life, Doaa, a hardworking and compassionate nurse. We dreamed of building a peaceful future together—but that dream was shattered in one horrific moment. 

On October 7, 2023, an airstrike destroyed my home while my family slept. I survived a coma and multiple surgeries on my skull and limbs, but I lost 10 beloved members of my family—including my sister and her young children—who were killed under the rubble. 

For over two years, I have lived in a fragile plastic tent, enduring displacement without clean water, electricity, or the comfort of a real home. My wife, Doaa, has been separated from me for over a year due to the war. The emotional toll of this distance, combined with my physical recovery, has been the hardest challenge of my life. 

A Shift Toward Hope: My New Goal Previously, my goal was to raise $20,000 to evacuate and seek a new life abroad. However, after much reflection and a steady improvement in my health, my heart has led me to a different decision: I have decided to stay in my homeland. I want to build my future here, starting with a modest, dignified shelter for me and my wife. I am shifting my focus from leaving to building. Instead of $20,000, I am now seeking to raise only $5,000.

This amount is the bridge to my new life. It will allow me to: 

• Purchase Timber & Construction Materials: As an engineer, I am ready to use my hands to build a sturdy, modest wooden structure. This will be more than just a shelter; it will be a private, safe "nest" for us. 

• Facilitate Our Reunion: To cover the essential costs of finally bringing Doaa back to my side so we can begin our journey of healing together. 

• Basic Living Necessities: To secure food, simple furniture, and the medical supplies I still need for my ongoing recovery. 

I never imagined I would have to ask for help, but your support is the only way I can reclaim a life of dignity. In the story of the starfish, it was said: "It makes a difference to this one."
