I‘m currently gathering funds for a new laptop before my next semester in college starts, since my current laptop got (accidentally) fried by a friend‘s stove.

To explain in further detail (for those who are curious):

I was hanging out with a homie of mine and we usually game on our laptops at his place.

He also has a cat in his household (this info will be relevant later).

After our gaming session I placed my laptop on the edge of the kitchen counter, which unfortunately offers little space, so the edge of my laptop jutted out on the stove (it’s an electronic/ ceramic heatstove).

Some time later we were talking in the living room, next to the kitchen. That‘s when we noticed a burning-plastic odor near us.

Turns out the stove was on.

Neither of us recollected turning it on, since we weren‘t cooking anything (we blame the cat).

It was also turned on a lower setting so it had enough time to fry my laptop from the inside and now it struggles to turn on (it melted near the power-button).

It‘s quite the inconvenient time for that to happen, since I use this laptop for college (my third semester starts in September).

And it‘s a bummer since the laptop stored a lot of precious information/ programs I paid for/ etc. that I need for my studies!

So I planned on getting a new laptop.

It‘ll most likely be from the same brand because- so far- it hasn‘t dissapointed me. Lenovo’s my goat.

Might get one that is more efficient with rendering animations/ 3d-models (because my baby was struggling a bit in that regard).

I‘ve been looking at some models and the prices roughly range from 1.3 - 2k.

Haven‘t had the time to pick a specific model since I‘m stressed because it‘s already August!

Everything will go towards my studies, since it‘s no secret that college is expensive (now more so than ever)!
