FUNDS AND FOSTER NEEDED FOR LADYBIRD!
UPDATE: Ladybird is leaving the hospital today (11/14) and going to rest at a volunteer’s place for a few days. We still need to keep raising money and we need a long term foster or adopter. Thanks so much to everyone who has helped her. You can follow the West Valley social media for updates too!
Six-year-old Ladybird #A1923417 found herself at the West Valley Shelter somewhat anxious and with ears shredded by severe fly strikes. This poor girl has opened up to the volunteers and become a favorite. Today, a volunteer noticed she had excessive drooling and an inability to swallow it. She was weak. They rushed her to the shelter vet who determined she had a life-threatening condition called bloat. The shelter is not equipped to help a dog in this condition so a volunteer rushed Ladybird to the VCA where they did bloodwork and gave her fluids and medications. Unfortunately, the VCA was cost prohibitive for the surgery so the volunteer took her to Kinder 4 Rescue where she is undergoing the procedure to repair the bloat. Volunteers cannot foot this bill themselves despite that they’ve taken her on. After the sad life she is sure to have lived, the volunteers are trying to give Ladybird a happier tomorrow. Please help us do that. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Ladybird will also need a foster home in which to recuperate so please reach out if you can give her a comfy bed. Thank you!!
We will provide updates soon.
