Fundraiser for Cats in Need (TNR) & Animal Rescue
Donation protected
My name is Monika and I’ve been trapping, neutering & releasing (TNR) my local feral and stray community cats in Orange County, CA since 2017.
These TNR efforts improve the lives of feral/stray cats as well as prevent hundreds of kittens from being born on the streets, most of which die before reaching 6 months of age.
Over the years I’ve been thankfully very successful at fixing and adopting out dozens of cats & kittens.
This year has been very challenging and I’ve been faced with multiple new colonies and litters. Most of them need medical care.
These cats were either abandoned by their owners or born on the street. They are infested with fleas, intestinal parasites, contract FeLV (feline leukemia)/FIV (feline aids) and are in constant danger from predators or abuse.
Unfortunately with no city assistance, there is very little funding available for this type of rescue work. Most volunteers like myself spend their own money or rely on donations from fellow caring and compassionate people that support this cause.
TNR is a costly endeavor as the supplies to trap, transport and support cats during recovery are expensive. Over the years I have purchased many traps. The spay/neuter surgeries are between $80-$150 at low-cost clinics.
I purchase and administer flea medications, dewormers, antibiotics and vaccines from home to save on vet expenses.
Money raised with this fundraiser, will go directly towards spaying/neutering and medicating required for proper feral colonies and rescue efforts. These are essential steps for getting the population growth under control.
Please help me alleviate some of the suffering these cats and kittens are subjected to. Thank you for your donations and for allowing them to live a better life.
Monika Z.
AMAZON WISHLIST:
THE BENEFITS OF TNR:
Male cats live up to 69% longer. They get in less fights, roam less, and contract less diseases.
Female cats do not have to go through the constant cycle of pregnancy and birth, which happens multiple times a year in these areas. They also live longer higher quality lives.
Kittens are not born on the streets to face disease, predators, and harsh living conditions.
By spaying and neutering just one male and one female cat, more than 2,000 unwanted births can be prevented in just four years.
UPDATE:
Thank you so much for everyone’s generous donations! ♥️ So far I’ve been able to schedule a total of 5 spay/neuter appointments on December 4th, 6th, 18th, 22nd and 26th at Stanton Pet Hospital and East Chapman Veterinary Center. I’m hoping to TNR all cats before they start having new litters. I’ll post Vet updates very soon.
