Fundraising to help the Kirby family

Sadly Dan Kirby an avid Pompey fan and serving member of the RN lost his Wife Zoe recently to cancer. She also loved going to watch pompey games and leaves behind 2 wonderful children, Thomas and Isabelle. The Pompey Armed Forces Supporters branch, along with the 3 Lads In The Pub podcast were both approached by multiple people about setting this page up to enable people to help in any way they can. We hope our followers and the wider community donate. With Dan's permission, we have done this so people can help with funeral costs or to give the children some happiness in the coming months. This is truly a heartbreaking story which will touch everyone after she sadly lost her battle with cancer that she fought so bravely. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Dan and the children at this time. The picture above was one of Zoe's favourites

Zoe got diagnosed with Terminal Breast Cancer in July ‘19 with secondary cancers on her Lungs, Liver and Spine. In June ‘20 this also spread to her brain.

She spent the past 3 years on a variety of palliative Chemotherapy, immunotherapy and Radiotherapy, all with the hope of giving us more time together with her. Our children, Thomas (15) and Isabelle (11) have been unbelievable and have been positive throughout their mother’s diagnosis, certainly as MiltonCross academy has given Thomas counselling sessions. Of course, now they’re missing their Mum a lot, more than anything due to how quickly she went.

Her mobility has been pretty poor for the last 2 years, due to seizures attributed to her brain lesions, which in turn, has restricted what we could do as a family; certainly regards to making memories together.
