Hello, I made this gofundme quickly once I learned about how bad of a situation a friend of mine, Arjo, has been experiencing. Even though everyone tries to be prepared for emergencies and hardships sometimes you can't prepare for how bad or how many hardships hit you. I will keep Arjo's personal hardships private for his privacy but I personally would like to commend him on getting through everything life as thrown at him thus far and seeing him still wanting to push through and make his own successes has been truly inspiring. One such accomplishment was stepping up and showing he was worth being hired on a full time and securing his first salaried position. Even with that though, his previous situation and variables outside of his control have put him behind financially, and as I learned today, his apartment complex is threatening to evict him if he does not cover his outstanding balance.
I have talked with him and heard how happy and proud he is when his own deeds and accomplishments are recognized but I have also seen how disparaged he is when something outside of his control happens and takes such accomplishments away. I have also talked with him and listened to how he has done gone to every resource available to him to create a stopgap bridge to help him before his new salary kicks in but every avenue, whether it be paycheck loans, local county living/rental assistance, or national assistance, has been a dead end or would not be of use in time. I don't want him to think the hard work he has put into getting to where he is now
In total Arjo is in need of ~$1600 dollars to fully cover rent, late charges, bank overdraft fees, and other expenses so I set the goal for $2000 to cover that and hopefully to help towards getting him an early Christmas bonus. Any amount you're willing to help towards this would be appreciated and even if you're unable to contribute if you could share this it would mean just as much.
2020 has not been an easy year for anyone so I understand if you are unable to help contribute but I do hope to show Arjo how kind friends, family, and strangers are willing to help someone out in a moment of need so that he can continue to inspire me and everyone else with his progress and tenacity.
