Hi, My name is Jennifer I am fundraising to go to Costa Rica

In 2027, I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Costa Rica to take part in a meaningful community and wildlife conservation project that will truly shape my future. This experience is not just a trip—it is a chance to make a real difference while learning valuable life skills.

As part of the community project, we will work closely with local people to support and improve the area. This could include helping to build or renovate important facilities such as schools or community centres, creating safe and positive spaces for families and children. By working alongside residents, we won’t just be giving help—we’ll be learning about their culture, traditions, and way of life, building connections and understanding that go far beyond the classroom.

Another key part of the expedition focuses on wildlife and conservation. Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world, and we will learn how ecosystems there compare to those in the UK. We will explore how our actions at home can impact wildlife and habitats across the globe. By supporting conservationists, we will help protect natural environments and learn why sustainability is so important for the future of our planet.

Finally, this experience will challenge me personally. Living in the heart of the rainforest, surrounded by monkeys and toucans, will push me outside of my comfort zone and help me grow in confidence and independence. I will learn to take responsibility for myself—cooking, washing my clothes, managing my time, and working as part of a team without relying on my family.
