There’s no easy way to start this but my name is Theresa and I’m starting a GoFundMe for my partner’s nephew, Anthony Taylor.
On Sunday May 31st, Anthony was the 12th homicide victim in Toronto for 2026 and the 6th lost to gun violence. He is not a statistic. Anthony was and will always be loved. He was loved by his family, friends, and anyone who had the privilege to meet him and experience his kindness.

Anthony was the brightest in the room. He would laugh louder and smile bigger than anyone. His love of cooking was indicative of his love of filling his belly. This also meant the love of making sure that those he loved didn’t go to bed hungry. He always put everyone first before himself. Even if he had nothing he would try to find a way to give something. His first paycheque was spent on groceries and on that same same note he would make sure that his grandma wouldn’t carry the grocery bags into the house.
Anthony loved sports, primarily football (a Packers fan much to my dismay) and basketball and he participated in youth mentorship for both sports. His dedication to the sport precedes him as he would travel from Brampton all the way to Ajax to watch his younger cousin play basketball. As well, he worked at Malvern Family Resource Centre as a counsellor and he loved to support the youth in his family and community and did everything to ensure they were well taken care of.
Anthony’s biggest pride in life was being an older brother. He leaves behind three younger brothers and one sister, and he would do anything for them. He would spoil them and help them grow into the great people they will become. The media describes Anthony as a man but to us he will always be a young boy in the prime of his life.
Due to the sudden and tragic nature of Anthony's death, we are actively fundraising to pay for funeral arrangements and want to raise $20,000 by June 30th, 2026 in order to provide the family with financial support to give Anthony a service worthy of the life he lived. If you’re in a position to donate, we would be very grateful. Whatever you can give, it all adds up. Please find below what your donations will go towards:
