Fundraising for Wendie's Last Wish

Hi All,

As many of you know, mom LOVED walking Bowery and taking photos of wildlife around her. For years she joked about having her own bench wherever we walked the dog. The joke became a reality in 2020, when she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She would say something along the lines of "I'd like a bench here" or, "Just like this, see? A bench like this".

She fell in love with Brueckner Rhododendron Gardens while on a walk with Bowery and my dad, and decided this is where her bench would be. Her idea was that people could easily access it to have tea and conversations with her. Keeping it happy, her last wish was to know that all the people she loved could gather around, and just be together with her there in spirit.

So, I am petitioning with the City of Mississauga to ensure mom's last wish is met, and give everyone a chance to remember the crazy spirit she was. Once the bench is installed, everyone can expect a second party!
