Fundraising to buy a van!
We are Hwupenyu Health and Wellbeing Project: a small charity based in Glasgow, who work to promote the health and wellbeing of Black and African communities in Scotland.
Every Wednesday, we have run a weekly foodbank out of our premises at the Adelphi Centre. We support anywhere from 35 - 45 families a week who are in need of food.
Since we have run the foodbank, we have relied on van hire to collect and transport food to our premises. However, hire costs have now risen: and as a small charity with a limited budget we are asking for your help to purchase our own van.
All money raised will go toward helping us to be able to afford the cost of buying a van, along with running costs and insurance, in order to be able to transport food to people who need it the most.
Especially during COVID, we want to be able to continue to support vulnerable individuals and families - many of whom may be especially isolated and at risk during this period. Your support can help us to continue to provide an essential service for so many.
Thank you.
