My name is Kim Hobbs, I met Serena when I was 16 and she hired me for my first job. I didn’t know how lucky I was at the time as that one day changed the course of my whole life and who I was. She helped make the best parts of me and I am forever grateful for our 30 year friendship, her support no matter what the situation, the amazing moments we’ve had while making memories, and all the amazing people I’ve met because of her that I now call friends.
Anyone who met Serena, knew instantly that she was special. The love, kindness and compassion that she showed everyone was just a small part of her special ~ she had the biggest smile and the warmest hugs that could change the worst day in to hope knowing she would support you through. And now the people that she lived for, that were the most special to her need our support.
On the morning of December 30th, Serena was happy and looking forward to getting home to her family and friends. She spent her day reaching out on FB, by text or phone call, and had visits with those very close to her. As evening came, Serena still happy and looking forward to getting home, she took her last breath and went to be reunited with her Father, other family members and friends including special SueBee. She had the heart of an Angel and I can only imagine how beautiful she looks with her wings❤️.
Serena, at only 52, did not consider that she would leave us all so soon. Her family has made arrangements, but having to try and take on that financial stress themselves. Serena gave so much of herself to everyone, just being herself. She would be the first one to step up when a friend was in need and I’m hoping we can pull together and give the love and support we have all received from Serena back to her family.
3 wonderful ladies, each with their own dreams for their future that included their Mum being there are now trying to figure out how to give her the best for final rest while coping with the utter shock and the fact that life is forever changed.
Every share, every single $1 will help ease their burden and show them how much support they have from people who loved their Mother.
Serena’s light was bright and she had so many families ~ her blood family, her friend family, her pool family, her dart family, her Daily News family, her Classic family, her Legion family and her Bingo family.
Please know we are all one family now and we are here to support each other. Reach out if you need to talk. Serena loved us all dearly and she will continue to shine her light.
