Fundraising for teen Alex’s medical costs

this Gofundme was set up to support local Valley Springs teen Alex Britt, a freshman at Calaveras High school, and his family with the cost of his medical bills not covered by insurance. In addition to the intensive care involved in trying to avoid dialysis while he awaits a donor, Alex was informed at his August 19th appointment at UC Davis that he needs a heart monitor, as his medical team suspects his rare kidney disease is impacting his heart, and he has been referred to a specialist October 9th for rare hormone related complications that will not be covered by his private insurance and secondary MediCal, and are likely to cost as much as $10,000. Alex has a large family and support system, but this is going to be a huge burden to them so we are opening this campaign to help! All funds will go directly to his parents and GoFundMe’s fees will be matched by Foothills Mental Health Services so the family gets every last penny you donate. We hope to post updates here as we learn more about his financial needs and donor prospects, but will respect this young man and his family’s privacy.
