Fundraising for Neil in his fight against MND

Hi, my name is Mark and I am fundraising for my friend Neil.

In April 2023, Neil was given the devastating news of a life altering diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) at the age of 45.

MND is a rapidly progressing disease that often begins with weakness of the muscles in the hands, feet or voice. There is no effective treatment or cure.

Neil has shown great courage throughout this time and has continued to work in a physically demanding job within the construction industry. As his condition has deteriorated, it is no longer safe for him to continue to work and he has sadly had to retire from a career that he has been in for almost 30 years.

As time progresses he is going to require additional support with every day tasks.

I am hoping to fundraise for Neil and his family to help them provide the best possible care for Neil to retain some independence and quality of life in his own home.

Fundraising events

1. Mark McBride- Bob Graham Round Friday 14th/Saturday 15th June 2024- this is a 66 mile run over 42 fell tops in the Lake District with 27,000 feet of ascent, which must be completed in 24 hours.

2. Gillian McGrory- Kiltwalk Sunday 28th April 2024- Taking on the challenge of The Big Stroll in Glasgow.

3. Lara Campbell- Running Edinburgh Marathon (26.2 miles) on Sunday 26th May.
