Fundraising for Liver Transplant by 9 Feb

We are raising funds for our friend's mother's liver transplant in Ghana.

She was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis (non-alcoholic related hepatitis) in September 2022. Since then, she has been going through tri-weekly dialysis, covered by health insurance and NGOs ($17,000). She has been on a waiting list for a liver transplant since October 2022. Her surgery is now scheduled for March 2023, the full cost of which is $45,000 due on 9th February. $41,730 have already been raised through personal savings, contributions from family and friends, and sale of personal property. We are now looking to raise the remaining $3,270, not including post-operation care.

We have known our friend for 4 years. He is a young professional, with limited savings and investments at this early stage in his career. His father, the main source of income for the family, passed away in 2021. The family has reached out to all personal connections and is now trying to bridge this final gap.

There is a real urgency in meeting the payment deadline. If the money is not collected in time, our friend's mother will be moved down the transplant list. Many patients pass away waiting for this life-saving opportunity. We cannot lose this opportunity to save her life.
