Kylee, now six years old,  contracted a food-borne illness in 2012. It caused a myriad of health issues including a stroke, a kidney transplant and the loss of much of her motor function. In the past 4 years, she's come off dialysis completely, received a kidney transplant, made incredible strides in therapy, and generally amazed us all with her resilience and strength. She's made so much progress down a long road that has her looking forward to walking, talking, and eating on her own again. In an effort to help on this journey, Kylee is now undergoing a series of brain surgeries in Los Angeles.

These surgeries are in the clinical trial phase and thus, she can only receive care from her doctors in LA for the early duration of her recovery. This means she'll be flying to LA from Portland around 15 times over the next year for testing, therapy, and monitoring of her continued recovery.

Kylee's journey to recovery has been a long and arduous one, but she has shown amazing strength and tenacity along the way. Her smile is infectious and her determination inspiring. She shows a great amount of joy in her progress and at each new milestone she meets. 

We are accepting donations of cash and alaska airline mile and anything else that will help with her ongoing medical and travel expenses.

All donations will be used to help Kylee's recovery and ongoing expenses, such as her transplant drugs, physical and occupational thereapies, out of pocket medical expenses, travel and airline costs, and any other expenditures directly related to her conditions and recovery.
