Hello,

My name is Jennifer Ricketts.

I am a Jamaican / Canadian,

connected through family and friends still residing there, some directly impacted by Hurricane Melissa.

I have launched a Go Fund Me Account in an effort to raise funds solely to assist friends, family members and communities trying to recover after the aftermath and devastation from Hurricane Melissa. Many are still without the necessary resources and are struggling to survive due to the magnitude of the disastrous consequences of the hurricane.

I feel the need to act to make a difference in the face of such unspeakable pain and tragedy, something my family and I are personally familiar with after a beloved family member was brutally murdered some time ago.

Grateful to all who supported us without wavering during our difficult journey .

This experience has not only informed but has transformed me forever, refusing to allow personal pain to be a barrier but a bridge for others.

The devastation from Hurricane Melissa is much bigger than any one person or individual and requires all our

collective efforts, chipping in and making a donation to help this worthy cause. Healing comes when we focus not just on our needs but that of others. It is very uplifting to not just serve, but to serve a cause that is so much bigger than ourselves. Funds raised will be used solely for the people of Jamaica towards disaster relief. Some communities still lack the necessities such as, food, shelter, compounded by not having electricity, or running water and communication. The government of Jamaica has just declared an outbreak of Leptospirosis a very deadly disease that has claimed the lives of 6 people .
