Fundraising for Jahids operations

Asalamu alaykum everyone,

I have created this gofundme page on behalf of my younger brother Soyd Jaheedul Islam. He has been diagnosed with Crohns since 2010 and has suffered through many hardships due to this. In 2016 he had an operation to remove his colon and use a colostomy bag. The NHS told him he would have the bag for only 6 months but it has now been 5 years. Every time he spoke to the doctors to remove the bag they kept telling him to wait, neglecting him and constantly delaying the process to reverse the colostomy bag.

In the past year on top of the crohns and colostomy bag he developed 8 fistulars in his back and front passage. This has caused much hardhship on him physically and mentally. He suffers from unbearable pain that can not be numbed down even with morphine. Ever since lockdown he was in and out of hospital and had 8 operations all unsuccessful in getting rid of the fistular permenantly. This has created major hardship in his life. My brother can not even pray sitting down and has not been to the masjid for over a year now as the excruciating pain does not let him sit or lie down for too long. He has difficulty physically moving preventing him from being able to work, go out, drive, take part in any sport or just live a normal life.

Whenever I would speak to him about trying to make an effort to change I would see sadness in his face. He feels as if he is a liability to the house as he cannot financially help at his age and he feels that our parents stress over him too much. He is embarassed to talk to anyone about his problems making it difficult for him to seek help when he needs it. Due to this fistular he has to regularly change his dressings which can take up to hours because of his lack of mobility. Many times family members have walked in on him changing and in tears from the pain and the feeling of embarassment as he cannot ask for help. He cannot take normal showers or baths as the water could effect the open wound and cannot cloth himself without someone elses help. His medication makes him very tired leading him to sleep too much, the side effects of these medications could cause damage to his liver but there is nothing he can do about it as it is required to reduce his continuous pain

Recently he came into contact with an individual who suffered the same illness as him but recovered after undergoing an operation in India Alhamdulillah. This gave my brother hope however the costs of the operation and expenses is too much. My family do not have the funds to cover such high expenses so I am asking if you can please donate to this page to bring some hope back into my brothers life. I pray for him to be able to work, pray and live a normal life again but the costs of this operation is a barrier to this.

The name of the hospital is called healing hands in India and the doctors name is Dr. Ashwin. The initial cost of the operation is roughly £10,000 followed by other small operations which could lead up to a total of £15,000. Whoever helps ease one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter. Allah helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. People do not gather in the houses of Allah, reciting the book of Allah and studying it together, but that tranquility will descend upon them, mercy will cover them, angels will surround them, and Allah will mention them to those near Him. Whoever is slow to good deeds will not be hastened by his lineage.”
