Hi, My name is Jess and I am fundraising for an electric attachment for my wheelchair. Which would cost £2,500 for the cheapest one on the market . This is a vital bit of equipment needed so i can get my independence back. This equipment would be absolutely life changing for me. It would mean i wont be stuck in house 95% of the time, I will have full independence and will be able to use wheelchair full time like i am medically meant to and been told to, instead of having to try and walk when not meant to which is putting at risk of more spinal and joint damage, while it also causes more intense pain and more injuries. It means i will be able to do something so simple as keeping myself safe.

I have genetic condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, which basically means that my collagen is faulty and affects my whole body. It affects all my organs and struggling with poor healing. It also means i am in pain 24/7 and have daily dislocations and subluxations. Also have other conditions as a result of my EDS such as spinal degeneration. My EDS has effected my mobility now, with walking and standing causing intense pain. I am now need to be in a wheelchair full time for my safety which has been difficult due to lack of accessible housing, having the equipment i need to be able to fully get around in my wheelchair.

Being able to reach my target and being able to get the attachment for my wheelchair will be live changing as i will be able to do simple things again such as just going around where i live and the local shops. I hope i can find the attachment cheaper and if i can then the rest of the money will go on being able to replace my unsafe NHS profiling bed.
