Hey everyone!
I'm doing the Dublin City Marathon (again!) but this time for a great charity very close to my family's heart.
I'm raising money in aid of Dravet Syndrome Ireland and every donation will help.
This is a volunteer lead charity to help and support families that have family members with severe genetic epilepsies.
Dravet Syndrome is one of these epilepsies and my nephew Cillian was diagnosed when he was 18 months old. It is a mutation in one the genes (SCN1A for you science buffs out there!) and as well as seizures, people can have balance and movement issues, speech delays, sensory integration disorders and intellectual disabilities.
It is a life long condition and treatment is limited.
This charity uses its funds for supporting families impacted by this life changing condition and raising awareness of Dravet Syndrome as it is very rare, only 1 in 20,000 babies a year are born with Dravet Syndrome.
Thanks everyone! Come out and support on the 27th October!
