Fundraising for City Of Wuhan

Thank you everyone for donating to this fundraiser for the City of Wuhan. With your help, we’ve raised a total of CA$34,938 ($36,019 before deducting fee paid to gofundme.com). This monetary donation along with other physical donations have allowed us to send 152,774 items totaling CA$176,100 worth of essential medical supplies (incl. masks, goggles, gloves, and protective suits, etc.) over 12 shipments directly to frontline workers (doctors and nurses) in over 30 hospitals across Wuhan and other cities in Hubei.
The Mayor of Wuhan has sent a thank you letter to its sister city Markham, where Canada Hubei Chamber of Commerce is located, and especially thanked the group for helping the city and frontline workers when they needed it the most. Many doctors and nurses have also echoed the gratitude. (See photos attached for more details).
At the beginning of March, we’ve decided to end this campaign as situations in China is slowly improving. Instead, utilizing the experience we’ve built and the resources we have, we are turning our attention to the accelerating COVID-19 outbreak at home and around the world, and doing our best to help out there.
Finally, none of these would’ve been possible without the tireless help of our dedicated volunteers and partner organizations in both Canada and China, who’ve come together to help out with fundraising, procuring supplies and coordinating logistics. Special shoutout goes out to Hainan Airlines, SF Express, JD.com, China Post, customs officers, Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei and Wuhan, Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Hubei and Wuhan, and China Charity Federation for arranging the ‘green channel’ for us to send all the medical supplies. ***FUNDRAISER FOR CITY OF WUHAN***
We are Hubei chamber of commerce Canada, located in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Most of our members are from Wuhan, Hubei province, China.
At the end of 2019, the tragic and devastating virus, dubbed the novel coronavirus 2019-nCoV, hit our city of Wuhan.
2019年底，一场突如其来的新型冠状病毒感染的肺炎疫情袭击中国湖北省武汉市。
Since then, the virus has caused irreparable damage not only to the city of Wuhan but also all across China and has even begun to spread worldwide.
Wuhan has been quarantined but the people are swept by fear and anxiety. People are now unable to enter or exit the city and supplies are becoming limited. Hospital staff are overworked and overwhelmed. There’s barely any time to eat or sleep. People are lining up in front of hospitals and begging for help.
Right now, these people and the staff in the hospital need our help. Masks, gowns, gloves, protective gear and medicine are becoming more and more limited. To aid in the quarantine and for the honorable and brave hospital staff, the Canada Hubei Chamber of Commerce asks for everyone to help raise funds in the cause.
从疫情开始起，加拿大湖北商会非常关注家乡同胞们的健康和安危。
疫情的防控工作已进入非常严峻的阶段，湖北省成为了疫情防控核心区域，在武汉市封城的情况下，各种应急物资紧缺。加拿大湖北商会在此呼吁在加拿大的各位湖北同胞及广大华人华侨响应起来，为武汉现在战斗在一线的医生、护士及乡亲们尽一份绵薄之力，为他们募捐购买应急物资，保护我们的同胞，我们的家园。
疫情防控面前，我们唯有团结一心，众志成城！这样我们的家乡、我们的城市，我们的祖国就有希望！
All funds will be directly donated to the hospitals of Wuhan. Funds will be used to help in the resupply of masks, gowns, gloves, disinfectant and necessary medication for the hospitals of Wuhan. Any amount is appreciated and once again, the Canada Hubei Chamber of Commerce would like to express our sincerest gratitude in advance to everyone who has donated. Much love and best wishes to Wuhan and all of Hubei, we will definitely overcome this battle against this virus.

Transportation process:
1. 为了便于统一组织，确保高质、高效、及时将加拿大海外华人华侨的爱心送达武汉，加拿大湖北商会已经联系了湖北省及武汉市侨办、侨联和海关等机构，并得到他们的大力支持和帮助。

In order to facilitate the organization and ensure the high-quality, efficient and timely delivery of the love of Canadian overseas Chinese to Wuhan, Hubei chamber of commerce of Canada has contacted Hubei province, overseas Chinese office of Wuhan, overseas Chinese federation, customs and other agencies, and received their strong support and help.
2. 加拿大湖北商会捐赠物资的接收方目前在国内是武汉市侨联。并且商会已和加拿大物流公司达成协议，募捐物资到位后，会在一天内发往中国。武汉市侨联及加拿大湖北商会武汉工作站负责协调物资的清关和运输问题。
2. The recipient of donated materials of Hubei chamber of commerce of Canada is Wuhan overseas Chinese federation in China. Moreover, the chamber of commerce has reached an agreement with the Canadian logistics company that the donated materials will be sent to China within one day after they are in place. Wuhan federation of overseas Chinese and Wuhan workstation of Hubei chamber of commerce of Canada are responsible for coordinating the clearance and transportation of materials.
3. 第一批募捐物资将统一由武汉市侨联安排相关单位负责接收和调配。
3. The first batch of donation materials will be received and distributed by relevant units arranged by Wuhan overseas Chinese federation.

N95口罩、一次性医用防护服、防护眼罩/眼罩/护目镜、医用一次性乳胶手套、长筒胶鞋/防水、防污染鞋套、医用外科口罩、防污染靴套、一次性圆帽
This donation will all be used to purchase the following protective materials (consumables) :
N95 mask, disposable medical protective clothing, protective eye mask/blindfold/goggles, disposable medical latex gloves, long tube rubber shoes/waterproof, anti-pollution shoe cover, surgical mask, anti-pollution boot cover, disposable round cap
In view of the severe shortage of various materials, if the donation fails to purchase all the materials, the rest of the donations will be donated to domestic charitable organizations.
