Medical Care for Disabled Teacher Liuba Ciobanu

My name is Tudor Mocanu and I created this campaign to raise money for medical care for my elementary school teacher, Mrs. Liuba Ciobanu (school #11, currently known as Liceul Ion Creanga in Chisinau, Moldova). Mrs. Ciobanu, who was also a Romanian language teacher in a number of schools in Chisinau (e.g., M. Kogalniceanu), is suffering from Parkinson’s disease (advanced stages) and is unable to move on her own. Her husband, Mr. Constantin Ciobanu (a former physics teacher) is by her side 24/7.

I am reaching out to all her former students and other folks who are willing and able to help. The goal is to raise money to purchase a new wheelchair and walker, and to set some funds aside for adequate medical care and other necessities to help ease the burden of the illness and suffering.

They rely entirely on pensions and disability assistance, which I imagine most of you know are extremely modest in Moldova. I appreciate your contributions and please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you would like to help out in other ways. To ensure full transparency, once the campaign is closed (or when I withdraw funds), I will post updates with receipts and / or pictures.
