Damoon Needs Our Help to Fight Aplastic Anemia

In the year 2020, a routine check-up turned our world upside down as we received the devastating news that our beloved son, Damoon, was diagnosed with a rare and cruel disease known as Aplastic Anemia. This insidious illness cripples the bone marrow's ability to produce an adequate number of blood cells, thereby severely compromising the immune system. Despite embarking on a journey of intensive initial treatments, including injections of two types of medications aimed at suppressing his overactive immune system, Damoon's battle with this relentless condition has only intensified.

To put it in perspective, his platelet count has dwindled to less than 10,000, a far cry from the normal range of 200,000 to 300,000. This alarming drop has rendered Damoon vulnerable to life-threatening complications. Aplastic Anemia has not only stripped him of the activities that a typical 5-year-old enjoys but also left him isolated from preschool, music classes, and team sports. His severely compromised immune system confines him to the sidelines, and this isolation has taken a toll on his spirits.

The most effective and life-saving treatment for Damoon's condition is a bone marrow stem cell transplant. After conducting exhaustive research, we've identified a compatible donor and are resolute in our determination to pursue this treatment option. However, the intricacies of arranging this procedure are complex, and we've made the difficult decision to seek specialized care in Germany, where Damoon can receive the expert medical attention he urgently requires.

The financial burden associated with Damoon's treatment is substantial. The estimated cost of the transplant procedure alone is approximately 270,000 euros, covering the initial phase of treatment.
