During the upcoming cricket season I will be running an organised 10k event every month to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Morebath Cricket Club. If we manage to raise more than £500 I’ll run a Km for every run James Rew scores for Somerset in the County Championship this season.
Just after Covid my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer after returning from Australia to visit me. Thanks to the amazing work that Cancer Research UK do and a new groundbreaking study her Cancer was treated with Radiotherapy rather than Chemotherapy. Fortunately she was given the all clear very soon after.
Morebath Cricket club is a village cricket team based in rural Mid Devon playing in the West Somerset Cricket league. A decision was made during the winter to start a Second team to allow local youngsters and other local people to play sport in the area. This will hopefully ensure that the club will be around for many years to come after the unfortunate demise of other small sporting teams in the area. Morebath CC is very much the heartbeat of the local community with many of its elderly residents enjoying spending time up at the club socialising and therefore being part of a local community. Due to rising costs and a lack of investment the club won’t be able to continue without donations from local businesses and individuals.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and the funds will be split equally at the end of the cricket season in September.
Many thanks
