fundraising for baby Aspen

My name is Angel, and I am here with my sister Katie to tell you about a very special little girl and to share a bit of her story. This is baby Aspen, our other sister Jan's baby girl .. She is 7 months old.. and has been diagnosed with a very rare disorder called SMA ( Spinal Muscular Atrophy) type 1.  It is the most severe case and currently there is no cure. She is currently in the Calgary childerns hospital because of complications from a necessary Gtube surgery and is currently on breathing support. Her mommy is a single mom doing the best she can given the circumstances. They both have been through a lot not only in the last few days but unfortunately since her diagnosis.  Through all of this they  both have been incredibly brave and strong. Aspen is such a wonderful baby with a beuatiful soul just like her momma , full of joy and love . The money raised will help with travelling and other expenses that will go along with Aspens hospital stays. Unfortunately SMA is degenerative , and more complications are always a risk with the disorder. There is hope  though, and a possible treatment option is available in Vancouver BC that Aspen is currently on the waiting list for. Said potential treatment  will require even more funds than the goal here, but we thought it a good place to start to help out our dear sister and her sweet girl as much as possible . We all admire both of their strengths and love them dearly, so any help we get from this fundraiser will be so much appreciated, we will be forever grateful.
