My name is Asher Jaymz Reifers. I am 1 year and 2 months old. The first time I rode in a airplane was the first day I was born, I aspirated during C-section and I spent the first 6 days of my life in the NICU. Since then I have flown out via airplane 5 more times due to respiratory viruses and infections. During all of that my mommy and daddy started noticing I was falling quite a bit behind. To doctors and my physical/speech therapists I am considered a 6 month old baby when I am really 14 months. I am unable to sit unattended for more than 5 minutes. I cannot crawl or walk or speak yet. I am unable to eat solid foods regularly and tend to choke on whatever it is my mommy feeds me. Because of all of these issues I am having, my parents took me to a number of specialists including a pediatric nuerologist that wants me to get several tests done. Including a swallow study for me not eating, choking and not communicating. An MRI because I was diagnosed by 3 different doctors with macrocephaly, and Genetics testing because I am suspected of having a genetic disorder that might be the cause of a few of these problems. Please help me get to where I need to be! The first MRI I had scheduled (may 11th) I reacted badly to the anesthesia and my oxygen level dropped down to mid 70s and the procedure was cancelled. Because of all of that I now need to see a pediatric pulmonologist. I am now going to be doctoring with Children's in Omaha Nebraska because they specialize in caring for other babies that are as special as me They are the Children's Hospital closest to me but unfortunately they are still a 5 hour drive away from my home. We will be traveling back and forth to Omaha for at least the next 6 months. My swallow study procedure and GI are scheduled (June 18th) my next MRI procedure is (June 19th) My genetics testing starts as early as October. Any help, prayers, love or donations will be greatly appreciated for I have alot ahead of me.
