Walidain – Every Child Matters

Imagine being a child with no parents, no safe place to sleep, and no certainty of where the next meal will come from. Now, imagine standing in front of that child, looking into their eyes, and seeing the pain of hunger, loneliness, and uncertainty. That’s exactly what I experienced when I visited The Gambia in December 2024 and joined this amazing porject. I met children who had nothing—no family to turn to, no proper shelter, and no guarantee of even one meal a day. Seeing their reality firsthand shook me to my core. It wasn’t just a statistic or a distant issue anymore—it became personal. I knew in that moment that I couldn’t just feel sympathy; I had to act.

This project is more than just a building—it is a promise to the orphans of The Gambia that they are not forgotten, that they matter, and that they deserve love, care, and opportunities like any other child. Walidain is committed to changing lives because Every Child Matters.

For years, this vision has been carefully planned, ensuring that it is not just a short-term solution but a lasting legacy. Every step has been taken with deep care, from securing the land to digging the deepest boreholes to provide pure water—because these children deserve the best, not the bare minimum. No shortcuts have been taken, no corners cut, because this is about their safety, their dignity, and their future.

What began as a simple school and masjid has now grown into something far greater—a two-storey facility that will house, feed, educate, and nurture orphans who would otherwise have no one to care for them. 140 children will have a safe place to call home, a place where they can memorize the Quran, learn English, and gain the skills they need to build a better future without sacrificing their faith. The masjid within the facility will also be open to the entire community, creating a space for both learning and worship.

What Your Support Will Provide

Every single penny donated—aside from platform fees—goes directly to these children. A trusted team is on the ground, ensuring that every part of this project is carried out with care and transparency. The goal is to complete the facility and welcome the first group of children by December 2026, InshaAllah.
