Hi friends! Some of you already know me from the community, but if not- my name is TJ, I reside here in Glens Falls, I’m 33 and I live with a rare neurological condition called Moebius Syndrome. Moebius impacts me in many ways emotionally, physically & medically- I cannot move much of my face, my tongue is partially paralyzed, I can’t move my eyes side-to-side, I have a critical airway & breathing issues (suffered respiratory failure in July 2022, I was in GFH for 10 days w/ blood clot & low oxygen levels), I have deformed bones in my hands, left leg and both feet as well as arthritis. Despite these and other symptoms, I truly try to live life to the fullest and maintain the best sense of normalcy possible! I am reaching out to all of you today to humbly ask if anybody would consider assisting me in fundraising an electric folding tricycle that would genuinely be a godsend to my life in terms of independence and being able to ride further distances safely. I have a used non-electric tricycle that I bought last Spring from a kind lady, but it is starting to break down and is not ideal for further distances. It took me a long while to really feel comfortable asking for help, because I absolutely do not want to be seen as just looking for handouts and I also recognize times are tough for so many right now. I genuinely want any donation to be seen more as a personal connection- I will personally stay in touch with every single person that so kindly might be willing to help and I will make it a mission that I return the generosity on a personal level whether it be repairing computers, helping around your home, etc. I truly do not want this to be seen as I just want donations. I just need a little help getting this accomplished as I do live on a fixed income and it would be such a blessing beyond words. This folding e-trike from Lectric has the best reviews from the research I have done and is the best value I found for its features. I feel like I am not saying enough but I want all of you to know I appreciate every bit of help regardless of how much, it would truly mean the world to me!!
