Fundraiser for Our Beloved Sister

On November 23rd, 2025, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. Our older sister was taken from us in a senseless act of violence in her home in San Francisco. There are no words that can fully capture the heartbreak we are living with, but we want to honor her the way she deserved—with love, dignity, and peace.

Our sister was kind, nurturing, loving, with a fierce heart. Before I can remember she was there helping my mom care for us, her baby sisters. Changing diapers, feeding, watching over and she always kept us safe.

As soon as she was old enough, Jess worked to help my mom support us too.

In her own way, she continued to care for us by helping to support our childhood. While she worked hard, cleaning hotel rooms, she'd save up money for my mom to take Alexandra and I to Disneyland, Comic-Con, a nice dinner, or just a fun little escape. She was always looking for ways to better not just herself but the lives of her loved ones.

Beyond taking care of us, Jessy was our sister and friend. My happiest memories are of all 4 of us gathered, especially, as kids usually getting up to trouble.

Jessy was influential to us. She molded our interests with music, anime, reading, video games. I still think about all the hours spent gathered around the PS2 laughing or locked in to whatever new anime Jessy was starting.

She was my hairdresser all through middle and high school. Instead of getting angry, my mom would laugh when she would see what crazy new way Jess had bleached or cut my hair.

When I think of my sister, I imagine her beautiful laugh and the way she lit up. Big bright smile, happy crinkles around her eyes, and an infectious sound. She was a walking rainbow, a testament to her sunny disposition. She loved being as colorful as possible, from coloring her hair lime green, turquoise, bright red to her rainbow Vans or Chucks. She always made you smile. Seeing her pictures, never camera shy and always ready for the next photo, you see her vibrant personality in her gorgeous smile.

As we grew up, Jess couldn't wait to travel the world. Company was never an issue when she traveled alone, she always made friends along the way.

She was fearless and loved her independence; she never let herself be tied down by anything. Mexico, Italy, France, Spain, Canada, Amsterdam,Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Peru, even the sky. Her travel list and passport kept growing. She barely came back from Peru and was already planning her next trip to Cuba.

She has gone off to somewhere we cannot follow, but we feel her in the joy and warmth her memory brings us. Jessy was special. It is the comfort of her love around us, that brings us peace in her passing.

As we navigate this tragedy, our greatest hope is to bring justice for our sister. We are asking for support to honor her memory properly. Any amount, big or small, will help our family during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for holding our sister in your thoughts and hearts.
