Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
At MUIS, we endeavour to support our students by catering to their spiritual, social and intellectual needs. Alhamdulillah just over the past 7 weeks our committee has been hard at work, successfully organizing by the grace of Allah (swt) a multitude of events ranging from spiritual lectures to dawah stalls & workshops to social nights and industry nights, all whilst running weekly Qur’an circles, Halaqas, book clubs and sisters’ Arabic classes – and there’s still more to come inshaa’Allah!
With Ramadan just around the corner, we hope to continue our society’s legacy of providing our fellow brothers & sisters in the community the opportunity to connect and break fast together at our annual Grand Iftars. Alhamdulillah our Iftars have become a platform of strength and solidarity that the Muslim community looks forward to each year, with last year’s attracting over 1000 attendees in just two nights!
Inshaa’Allah we are expecting this year’s Iftars to be even bigger! However, for us to be able to continue to run these events successfully for the community, we need your help! Your donation will mean providing fasting Muslims with a warm meal, and it will mean providing Muslim students with a platform to confidently assert their Islam. Any donation you make will help us to running the Grand Iftars this Ramadan, with any surplus going towards ensuring all our future events can remain free.
الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُم بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Those who spend their wealth [in Allah's way] by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (Al Baqarah: 274)
May Allah (swt) reward you endlessly! Jazakumallahu Khayran!
