Medical & living expenses for Rosie Ramriez
My son’s 21 year old girlfriend Rosalinda “Rosie”
Ramirez was involved in a near fatal motor vehicle accident on 1/13/20. She was entrapped in the vehicle and was heroically pulled from the wreckage by a passing civilian and a Martin County sheriff’s deputy. She has a broken pelvis (1st surgery was 6 hours on Monday 1/16/20, broken femur (it was a compound fracture and they operated on that today 1/16/20), broken talus (bottom of the shin bone and they operated on that during the 1st surgery on Monday 1/13/20 and again on Tuesday 1/14/20 during the 2nd surgery). She’s looking at a 4th surgery on Saturday to work on the bones in her foot and ankle. It was an open fracture of the front of her ankle and the orthopedic surgeon worked very hard to restore the blood supply. We are hopeful she’ll be able to start learning to walk when she can bare weight on her right leg again in about 6 months.
Upon discharge she will need to go to an acute rehabilitation facility.
Rosie will be out of work for approximately 1 year and will need special care and adaptive equipment to assist her upon her return home.
