Hi my name is Rajah Sutherland, I’m 20years old from Albury NSW.

I was born with a soul crushing disability called SMA TYPE 2 ( Spinal Muscular Atrophy) I’m basically a 20yr old in a body with the strength of a baby.

My muscles are deteriorating the older I get.

I’m a smart girl with big dreams who has little mobility, I struggle to even lift a glass of water as it’s extremely heavy to me, which makes my life extremely difficult.

I can’t roll over on my own in bed, I can’t adjust my limbs alone, I can’t sit up on my own without assistance, I need help with absolutely everything you can imagine. Yes even help with going to the bathroom, I’ve missed out on the luxury of privacy.

Life has been so difficult. Missing out on everyday things that you wouldn’t think twice about, this is my life. My reality.

I did have a wheelchair accessible vehicle which was fundraised by a friend with cerebral palsy which I’m sure a lot of you would remember the big walk for Mya on Deans street in 2011 for it which served me so well for over ten years but it has been written off due to a accident.

The car was my main form of transportation and so now I’m left stuck in a rural town away from my friends and my study. Ever since I turned 16 it has been a big dream of mine to drive my own car, but due to my disability I am unable to drive any random car.

It has to be modified specifically for my use.

i just want to be like any other girl and to drive my own car all on my own and have that freedom to drive myself to where I need to go instead of relying on public transportation which is unrealistic now and for the future. Due to my financial situation.

its hard to fund my travel in and out of town. So I have decided to make this page in hope you can make my dream come true and to help me live the most normal life possible that I could ask for.
