Hello lovely humans!

This fundraiser is for the amazing Lou. Lou has brought so much joy and magic into the lives of literally hundreds (if not thousands) of people. If you've met Lou before, you know exactly what I mean. Included in the photos, you'll see Lou with all manner of people in "Under the Umbrella" - a photo journal that shows just one of the recent ways Lou brought magic and beauty and joy to people around her during an incredibly rainy weekend at the Kaleidoscope Gathering (KG) festival at Ravens Knoll Campground.

This past July, Lou was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called cervical adenocarcinoma that has spread into the surrounding area and is likely in a lymph node. This is further complicated by her inflammatory autoimmune disease, psoriatic arthritis and being on immunosuppressant meds.

She recently began cancer treatment including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation, and had initially hoped to work through treatment as long as possible to be able to continue to afford to live as EI will not cover her basic living expenses. Unfortunately, this week Lou had a very bad reaction to the chemo and immunotherapy and almost died, causing her to require ICU treatment and hospitalization. Lou now has DRESS (Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms) Syndrome. This very serious reaction ultimately means Lou will have to remain in the hospital for some while longer and is unable to continue working at this time as a result.

This is where you can help. Lou needs our financial assistance to help keep her housed, as sickness EI will not cover the expenses required to keep her home. Anything you can spare to help keep Lou afloat is greatly appreciated, and sharing this fundraiser with your loved ones, friends, and acquaintances is also incredibly helpful.

Throughout the entirety of this, Lou has remained hopeful and at peace with everything that is happening no matter what the outcome is. To share some more about Lou, she leads her life with peace and with joy as much as possible, and believes in facing fears head-on with strength, not allowing life to knock us down forever, but rather taking time to grieve and then getting back up and keeping on going because, well, we're all worth it.

That being said, the financial stress on top of her diagnosis has begun taking a different toll on her emotional health. But guess what? This is a part of her journey to wellness that we can support. And you can help!
