Fundraiser to help Julian Ramos
Donation protected
On October 3, 2020, my dearly loved Nephew Julian, 38, suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and had to be airlifted to Jefferson hospital in Philadelphia for emergency surgery. We were told he might not survive the helicopter transport; miraculously, he did. Then, another miracle, he survived the 5-hour brain surgery.
Since then, he’s had three additional surgeries related to his brain injury. Although Julian has made some progress, he still cannot walk or speak. Instead, he needs to be moved into a wheelchair with the assistance of a mobility device called a Hoyer lift.
Because Julian requires a wheelchair, he must be transported to his medical and rehab appointments via a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. This fundraiser is to help Julian’s Mom and Dad to be able to purchase a wheelchair-accessible van to help with transportation to and from these appointments.
Julian cannot express thoughts, and we are unsure if he’s aware of what has happened to him. We still don’t know whether he recognizes his family and friends. This event has been a devastating blow to his family. The life Julian knew before is gone. Julian’s Mom and Dad are his full-time caregivers, which is a 24/7 job.
Julian was a happy, sweet young man who enjoyed graffiti art, creating music for Rap artists and spending time with his family, friends, and dog. Julian has an identical twin brother, Alex, and a younger brother Gabe. He has four nieces and nephews. His family misses him and wants to provide the care and support he needs to help him recover. Recovery, and to what extent, is unknown at this point.
We are reaching out to friends and family to help raise money for a wheelchair-accessible van to help facilitate transport to and from medical and rehab appointments. This fundraiser would tremendously impact his progress as it will enable Julian’s Mom and Dad to keep him on a forward path of recovery.
