Fundraiser to Help with Cynthia Rand Medical Costs

Cynthia Rand is a mother, writer, and one of the hardest working people I know. I met her at the Appalachian Writer's Workshop and ever since then she has been of my favorite voices, both as a writer and a human being. She recently had to undergo major surgery for a partial colectomy for colon cancer, which was determined to be stage 2. The surgeon feels confident he got it all and is doing one more test on the tumor that was removed to see if Cynthia might have to have chemotherapy. She could use any financial assistance you could offer.  She was going to try and go back to her retail job two weeks after surgery, but it is looking like she may not be able to return to work that quickly due to a longer than anticipated recovery time .  Any funds you donate will help pay for necessities such as food, utilities, and medical bills.
