Fundraiser Ride Supporting Kristy and Ethan

On April 6 2021 I was given the worst news I had ever heard. I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. While breast cancer is scary enough, metastatic breast cancer even more so. I was told I was incurable. That I would never be a candidate for surgical intervention and that my only hope was a clinical trial to keep me alive long enough for the medicine of tomorrow - because the medicine of today could not help me.

Fast forward to today, and I am not only still here, but one more clear pet scan and we will prep for my first of multiple surgeries.

The battle has taken its toll on my mind and body, but even more so on my finances. I have been unable to work, and with a mastectomy ahead of me, I will not be able to work for some time. Short-term disability has run out and although metastatic breast cancer is an approved diagnosis for long-term or permanent disability, there is a 3-6 month wait for approval. My friends and family have been so amazingly kind and generous and have helped me so much up to this point. I am once again humbly pleading for financial help to keep a roof over my and my son’s heads.

My dear friends at GritCycle in Costa Mesa have planned a donation ride in my honor, to raise money to help my son and I get through these next several months. I would be honored if you would join us! Let’s show up, clip in and show these doctors that I am not a statistic.

This will be a private, donation based ride, so the ride host, Lisa will book each rider. Email Lisa at lisa@gritcycle(.com) once you have made your donation and she will book your bike. For my friends and family that don’t live local, or don’t wish to ride, but feel it in their hearts to donate - Ethan and I would be forever grateful.
