Fundraiser: Marathon to Japan

Spencer is 16 and has been fighting neuroblastoma for over 3 years. He spends 2 weeks out of every 6 in NYC for immunotherapy and chemotherapy. He has been a champ all along the way and maintains a good attitude as he fights this disease.

School has been difficult over the past 3 years, but he is trying to do a better job keeping up with his online school and classes so he can graduate high school before he gets "too old." This year he is taking Japanese as a second language and has an opportunity for an educational trip to Japan in March, which he hopes to attend with a parent. He needs to raise $5000 to afford this once-in-a-lifetime trip. His oncologists have cleared him to travel and are encouraging him to go to Japan at that time. Here is what he plans to do in his own words:

I have a school trip to Japan next March and I need to raise $5000 before then. In September I will be walking a marathon in 1 week in order to raise money. I really hope you can help out! I also invite you to walk with me if you would like to join me here in Salem, Oregon or walk where ever you live. I am so grateful to the community for everything everyone has done to help me and I would be so grateful if you could help me get to Japan. Thank you! Spencer
