Fundraiser - Lysa Delefeti

As many of you know, on January 18, 2018, Lysa fell ill with Pneumoccal Pneumonia. A type of pneumonia that invades the lungs and causes extreme difficulty breathing. Her breathing became so labored that she wound up in the hospital. As her lungs continued to fill with fluid, Lysa’s doctors realized quickly there was something more to her illness. They ordered an MRI, only to conclude a diagnosis that would change Lysa’s world in an instant.

Lysa was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma, cancer of the lung, on March 9, 2018, and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment since. The warrior that she is, she kept fighting and many months later, found herself in remission, only to learn of this terrible disease taking a devastating turn.

In January of 2021, Lysa was complaining of severe headaches and was diagnosed in March with metastasis, causing the cancer to spread to her brain. She underwent radiation treatment immediately and is fighting for her life.

Lysa has been a Senior Administrative Assistant in the East Rutherford office for over 14 years, recently recognized as a Top Performer in our region and is part of the fabric of Cushman and Wakefield. For those that know her intimately, you will know that her spirit during this challenging time was always positive, starting most days by sharing inspiring or goofy memes to always lighten the mood. Her inner light is so bright, her fight so fierce and her love so deep for her friends and family alike. She is a true inspiration.
