My name is Evan and I’m hoping to raise funds in support of my friends Nick Gergesha, his wife Maddi, and their family.

On Sunday December 21st, Nick, a beloved husband, loyal friend, and passionate musician passed away suddenly. He was just 35 years old.

While Nick’s time on earth was much too short, he lived life big and loud, with his beaming smile and immeasurable warmth and kindness.

Nick cared deeply about the people in his life. A newlywed, the centre of Nick’s heart belonged to his wife Maddi and their beloved “frenchie girl,” Carrie. He leaves behind his beloved parents, Natalie and John, and cherished brother Adam, along with an extended network of devoted family and friends all devastated by Nick’s loss.

Music was Nick’s main passion in life, and his spirit will live on through his many musical projects. Nick was the guitarist for Sundowner and bassist for Workers Comp.

Nick’s unexpected loss is a tragedy to all those who knew him but it is especially gutting to his wife and his world Maddi, whom he married in Toronto on September 27th of this year. Our hope with this fundraiser is to ease the financial burden on Maddi and Nick’s family, as they grapple with this unimaginable and devastating heartbreak.
