Fundraiser in Memory of William Homer
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that we share the unexpected passing of William Kelly Homer, our beloved Son, father, fiancé, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend of so many. William was born July 21, 1988 to Tammy Shupp and Kelly Lipsie. His family and friends are both devastated and shocked by his death. He lived passionately every day of his thirty-four years.
William will be missed deeply by his Mother Tammy Shupp and Stepfather Troy Breyfogle, his Daughter Audri Homer, his Father Leon Shupp and Stepmother Roxanne Shupp, his Fiancé Rion Curry, his Father Kelly Lipsie and Stepmother Dixie Lipsie, his Brother Guideon Quinn, his Sister Maria Quinn, his Grandfathers, his many Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, and friends.
William was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and raised in Oak Creek and Steamboat Springs. He attended both SoRoCo and Steamboat Springs schools. In his childhood he treasured spending many of his summers with his beloved Grandmother and Grandfather in California camping, going to the beach, exploring and traveling to different areas.
Over the course of his life he ran many of his own automotive repair businesses, plowed snow, ran heavy equipment, worked in the oil fields, worked alongside his friends, and fought wildland fires. His passions were being in the great outdoors, snowmobiling, riding atvs, camping, gaming, golfing, exploring, hunting, boating, traveling, driving his treasured trucks, playing pool, listening to music, being with family, his Daughter, his Fiancé, his beloved dog Poobie, and his cherished friends.
William could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He was always making everyone laugh with his goofy sense of humor and always tried to be the friend that he would want for himself. His antics were legendary and those who knew him have their own stories to tell. He said what he meant and meant what he said.
Though he had an adventurous spirit he never would move very far from his Mother. He always felt it was his responsibility to be her fierce protector. He was her best friend, confidant, rock, and would move mountains just to make sure she had what was in his ability to give. In Routt County, he found his passion for the great outdoors often spending his younger years camping and riding with his family and friends. He became a dad to his Daughter, Audri, at the age of 27 and fell in love immediately. He was excited to share the world he knew with her and teach her everything he had learned in his short life. He tried to protect and shelter her from everything that could possibly hurt her. She has inherited the very best parts of William and through her, his family and friends will make sure his bright light and legacy lives on.
To know him is to know one of the finest humans on earth. William had a presence that lit up a room. He was stubborn, hard-headed and set in his ways, but if you took the time to really get to know him and peel away the exterior layers, you would find he had a brilliant mind, he was sensitive, and he was passionate about family and the people and things he truly loved. His personality and laugh were infectious. William was always trying to be better, do better and learn more about everything. William was always making friends wherever he went. He was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in the successes, joys, and challenges of those around him. William was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. He fully enjoyed what he did and those he met. He made the time to show up for everyone who reached out, providing caring, trustworthy, and sound counsel. He simply wanted to brighten the lives he came across. Peace and caring permeated him, and kindness felt like it could be his middle name.
William’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of his existence far exceeded the quantity of time in which he lived. His heart and will of this world may have failed, but his spirit was stubbornly strong. (Lovingly contributed by William’s mother)
Updates for William’s memorial services will be posted here as they become available.
On behalf of William’s family to help ease their burden, this fundraiser has been established to assist with funeral expenses, and to help with future care and education costs for his daughter, Audri. Any contributions are greatly appreciated, and his family will be forever thankful.
