In October of last year, Yesenia's mother was diagnosed with liver cancer. For the past year, she has fought to get her mom the best treatment available here in Austin, even putting up her own truck as guarantee for payment to the hospital. Her mother's treatment was completed in July, but Yesenia has been handed tens of thousands of dollars in medical bills.
