Vanessa Gray is a veteran of the US Army, currently working as a histology lab tech for a hospital in California but is leaving to return home to be there for her family. She served OEF in 2007 and 2009 with the 25th ID. She has been my close personal friend since 2005. She and her family are currently in the midst of a very difficult time. Her brother passed away on August 6th, 2021 from Covid at the age of 36. Given his age and the unexpected nature of his death, there were not financial preparations in place to bury him and honor his memory.

On top of that, as I write this, her mother is in the hospital in Texas quarantined, fighting for her life against Covid, while simultaneously mourning the loss of her son. This has been an unexpected hardship for herself and her family, emotionally as well as financially. A small amount of money from enough people would aid with funeral and hospital costs. I’m hopeful we could lessen their load in at least this one way.

She has been there for many through two deployments in Iraq and has always been willing to help others when she was able.
