Greetings all. We are American Students for Health, a non-profit, grass-roots American student organization that focuses on fundraising for children's hospitals in Eastern Europe. We are co-founded by Daniel Razgonyaev, Niyazi Kyose, and Alvin Baranov.
Our newest campaign focuses once again on Ukraine. The war in Ukraine has killed hundreds and displaced millions of children. We aim to raise $2500 in funds to purchase the "AIMVEIN PRO 2.0 PLUS" for Lviv's Early Childhood Pediatric Center at St. Nicholas' Hospital. This high-quality vein-finder will assist in surgical venipuncture, resulting in less pain and trauma for the child.
The Early Childhood Department of the Pediatrics Center is located in St. Nicholas Hospital. The department is designed for 30 beds: 25 pediatric beds and 5 for the rehabilitation of babies born prematurely or sick during the first year of life.
With this vein scanner, pediatric surgeons will have the right tool to help at least 30 children daily.
A significant portion (43.1%) of hospitalized patients are children within the first three months of life.
The department provides diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation assistance to infants with respiratory, gastrointestinal, and urinary diseases and disorders. The work of the 1st Pediatric Department is not only treatment and rehabilitation, but also early detection of congenital or concomitant pathology.
In the first quarter of 2022, more than 40 infants in St. Nicholas Hospital were treated for SARS-CoV-2. All children were discharged with recovery. Since the beginning of the war, they have been treating and counseling children who moved to Lviv and providing them with everything necessary for their care.
All excess funds, apart from shipping the vein-finder to Lviv, will be utilized to purchase a phototherapy lamp to treat hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice) in infants.
We are in contact with Mrs. Lipska from "Wings of Hope" a Ukrainian-based charity organization dedicated to raising funds for seriously ill Ukrainian children. We will ship the vein-finder to Lviv when we reach our fund goal. If we go over our fund goal, that money will be used to purchase and ship a phototherapy lamp to the same hospital as well.
American Students for Health remains committed to providing integrity and transparency to everyone, donors or not. If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to contact us at americanstudentsforhealth @gmail.com, on our Facebook , or on our Instagram .
